BHHS Production Students Advance at the 2025 Texas Thespian Festival

A group of Barbers Hill High School Production students traveled to Grapevine before the Thanksgiving break to participate in the 2025 Texas Thespian Festival, one of the largest theatre education events in the nation. This year’s festival hosted more than 6,000 student performers, technicians, and leaders who competed in a wide range of Individual and Group Events.

BHHS athletes announce plans for college

Three Barbers Hill High School athletes officially committed to playing collegiate sports during the early national signing period for sports other than football. The annual signing event, attended by coaches, family, friends, and classmates, took place in the school's competition gym.

BHHS welcomes decorated Air Force Colonel as new JROTC leader

The Barbers Hill High School community is proud to announce the newest addition to its faculty, Colonel Shaunte Cooper, who has joined the Barbers Hill family as the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the Barbers Hill Air Force Junior ROTC program.

HS Art Teacher Honored

Barbers Hill High School art teacher Kristen Elliott, now in her fifth year with the district, recently attended a teacher retreat at the Holdsworth Center in Austin, Texas. Ms. Elliott was nominated for this honor by Cristina Correa, the 2025 TAEA Texas Art Educator of the Year. Out of more than 1,300 nominations, 150 Texas educators from the greater Houston area were selected for a weekend of reflection, connection, and renewal. The retreat brought together passionate Texas educators to reflect, recharge, and celebrate the meaningful work they do for their students each day.

Soaring Eagle Band: Sweepstakes Smash!

In a dazzling display of musical might, the Soaring Eagle Band & Color Guard blasted through the UIL Region 19 Marching Contest on October 18, earning straight Division 1 ratings across the board. Now, with instruments blazing and hammers pounding, they march onward to the UIL Area E Contest on November 1 at Ray Maddry Stadium in Channelview.  Their next epic battle awaits, and times will be posted soon.

Volleyball coach notches 400th career victory

Barbers Hill High School volleyball coach Casey Veen reached a monumental career milestone recently, recording her 400th victory -- a testament to more than a decade of dedication to the sport and her athletes. Veen, whose 11th-ranked Eagles currently boast an impressive 30-5 record and are all but guaranteed their 24th consecutive playoff berth, crossed the 400-win threshold just a year after securing her 300th.

Senior appointed BHHS Cadet Wing Commander

Cadet Col. Christian Irwin has been appointed Cadet Wing Commander for the Barbers Hill High School JROTC program — the highest-ranking cadet leadership position. In this role, Irwin is responsible for overseeing the entire cadet corps, managing the leadership team and ensuring the overall effectiveness of training, operations and events.

District unveils $75 million high school expansion

Barbers Hill High School has officially completed a significant $75 million expansion, increasing the school's footprint by 30 percent and more than doubling its original size. The extensive project, driven by the Barbers Hill ISD’s growing student population, adds 150,000 square feet of new construction, renovates 32,000 square feet of existing space, and provides 73,000 square feet for 256 new parking spaces.

BHHS Website Design Team Places 5th in the Nation

Barbers Hill High School is proud to announce that our Website Design Team has achieved national recognition at the 2025 BPA National Leadership Conference! The team, Drew Hunt, Victoria Novak, Clin Shaiju, Josh Zamora, not only advanced to the Finals but also took the stage and placed 5th in the nation.

This incredible accomplishment reflects the team’s hard work, innovation, and collaborative spirit. Congratulations to these talented students for representing Barbers Hill with pride on the national stage!

Parking Permits

All students who operate a motor vehicle, including motorcycles, on school property must register their vehicles with the District by purchasing a student parking permit.
